Compact aluminium stair nosing profile designed to protect stair edges while providing a replaceable slip-resistant or smooth PVC insert. With a 42 mm wide profile and multiple aluminium finishes and insert colours available, Profile 33701 is a versatile solution for indoor stairs in commercial, public and residential buildings.
The 33701 Aluminium Stair Nosing Profile is designed to protect stair edges from wear and damage while providing a durable and replaceable walking surface.
Manufactured from aluminium, the profile has a compact 42 mm tread width and incorporates a dovetail guide for installation of a replaceable PVC insert. The profile is supplied with countersunk fixing holes for secure mechanical installation.
Two types of PVC insert are available: slip-resistant (2504) and smooth (2505). Both versions are offered in a wide selection of colours, allowing the stair nosing to be adapted to the surrounding interior or used to create a contrasting stair edge for improved visibility.
A broad range of aluminium finishes is available, including silver, gold, sand, bronze and stainless-steel-effect anodized finishes, as well as polished aluminium and polished brass-effect options.
The combination of a durable aluminium body and replaceable PVC insert makes Profile 33701 particularly suitable for projects where stair-edge protection, maintainability and design flexibility are required.

Profile 33701 is designed primarily for stair-edge/corner protection.
Suitable project environments can include:
Profile 33701 contains countersunk holes within the dovetail guide. The aluminium profile is first mechanically secured to the stair using suitable screws and, where required, appropriate dowels. The manufacturer's instructions also state that a suitable adhesive bond can be used.
The PVC insert is then fitted into the profile's dovetail guide. The manufacturer recommends allowing cold PVC inserts to reach room temperature before installation, making them sufficiently flexible to compress and fit correctly into the profile.
For additional security and to reduce the possibility of shrinkage, the manufacturer recommends bonding the PVC insert to the profile at individual points.
