The 33704 Aluminium Safety Stair Nosing Profile is a robust stair-edge protection solution designed for demanding indoor applications where durability, grip and clear stair-edge definition are important.
Manufactured from EN AW-6060 aluminium, the profile features a substantial 67 mm tread width and 46 mm overall height, with a 40 mm internal dimension. Its larger geometry provides extensive coverage of both the tread edge and vertical stair face.
Unlike the narrower profiles in the range, Profile 33704 accommodates two rows of replaceable PVC inserts. The inserts are available with either a smooth or grooved surface and in 10 different colours, allowing contrasting combinations to be specified according to the visual and functional requirements of the project.
The profile is designed for wood and stone stair treads, stages and landings with applicable floor-covering thicknesses of 4–5 mm. The manufacturer recommends the profile for indoor use.
Profile 33704 is available in 2.5 m and 5 m lengths, with countersunk fixing holes positioned at 166 mm centres. Installation can be carried out mechanically and/or using a suitable adhesive on a load-bearing substrate.

Profile 33704 is suitable for applications such as:
Profile 33704 can be installed by screwing and/or bonding with a suitable adhesive to a load-bearing substrate.
The aluminium profile contains countersunk holes designed for Ø3.0 mm screws, with fixing points positioned at 166 mm centres.
An important installation detail for this particular model is that the manufacturer specifies that the profile is positioned and fastened after the riser covering has been bonded. The datasheet specifically recommends other profile types where installation needs to take place after the floor covering has already been laid.
This is worth retaining in our installation information because it distinguishes 33704 from some of the retrofit-style profiles.
