The 33706 Aluminium Stair Nosing Profile is a robust stair-edge protection profile combining a wide tread surface with a replaceable PVC insert system.
Manufactured from EN AW-6060 aluminium, the profile measures 60 mm wide × 34 mm high, providing substantial coverage of the stair edge while maintaining a clean architectural appearance. The manufacturer's stated application is the protection of stair-nosing corners.
The integrated dovetail guide accommodates a replaceable PVC insert, available in either slip-resistant (2504) or smooth (2505) versions. Both options are offered in a broad selection of colours, allowing the stair edge to be coordinated with the surrounding interior or specified in a contrasting colour for increased visual definition.
Profile 33706 is available in 2.5 m and 5 m lengths and features countersunk fixing points designed for Ø3.5 mm screws.
The aluminium profile has a stated A1 fire classification – non-flammable, making it suitable for specification in projects where the fire performance of construction materials is an important consideration.

Profile 33706 is suitable for applications such as:
Profile 33706 is mechanically fixed through countersunk holes located inside the dovetail guide. The profile is secured to the stair using suitable screws and, where required, appropriate dowels. The datasheet specifies Ø3.5 mm screws.
The PVC insert is cut to the required length and subsequently installed into the dovetail guide.
The manufacturer recommends allowing a cold PVC insert to reach room temperature before fitting, making it flexible enough to compress into the profile. Excessive heating should be avoided because this can cause expansion and subsequent shrinkage.
For additional security, the manufacturer recommends bonding the PVC insert to the profile at individual points to help prevent possible shrinkage.
